ISMPP's membership has grown to more than 1,500 with representation from all stakeholders involved in the publication of medical research, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and device companies, medical publication and communication agencies, medical journal publishers and editors, and professional medical writers.

ISMPP has implemented a certification program that offers medical publication professionals an opportunity to earn the recently established Certified Medical Publication Professional™ (CMPP™, pronounced See-Map) credential. More than 50 percent of ISMPP's members are ISMPP CMPP™ certified.
