Bio: John is a UK registered pharmacist who spent the first part of his career in academia, completing his PhD in neuroscience and subsequently lecturing in pharmacology. For over 30 years he has worked in the publishing, healthcare agency and pharmaceutical industry sectors. He started in healthcare communications and publishing by joining Adis International (now part of the Springer Group) where he held several roles including General Manager (Germany), Business Development Director and Editorial Director. John then joined AstraZeneca in 2000 as a Global Publications Manager working in the neurology, pain, anaesthesia and psychiatry areas. He then moved into Global Professional Relations at AstraZeneca in the psychiatry field - a position held for 3 years. From 2008 to 2016 John was in leadership roles in the Global Publications Group at AstraZeneca Medical Affairs at Alderley Park, UK. He was responsible for publications skills development and was Director of Publications Policy until August 2013.Thereafter he became Therapy Area Publications Director for the CNS, GI and Infection franchise. John has been a member of the Medical Publishing Insights & Practices (MPIP) Initiative Steering Committee, Secretary on the ISMPP Board of Trustees and a member of the CMPP Board of Trustees. John set up Solanum Medical Communications to provide consultancy to the pharmaceutical, biotech and device industries, and agencies on medical publications policy, strategy, planning, guidelines, writing, training and ethics.

Trish Groves

Bio: Trish Groves (MBBS, MRCPsych) has worked at BMJ since 1989. She is now director of academic outreach, BMJ; honorary deputy editor, The BMJ; and editor-in-chief of BMJ Open. Through various initiatives Trish aims to champion science that is open and transparent and reduces research waste. She spends about a quarter of her time travelling and speaking, directly supporting health researchers through outreach, and focusing on capability building - particularly in relation to the BMJ Research to Publication ( eLearning programme. She has published widely, particularly as a coauthor of research reporting guidelines such as the CONSORT 2010 statement on clinical trials

Currently leading MediTech Media and Medical Expressions, medical communications agencies which are part of the Nucleus Group of companies, ensuring delivery of projects to the highest standards across multiple therapy areas including immunology, respiratory, oncology, virology, cardiovascular/metabolic, neuroscience, oral health and vaccines. Responsibilities and skills include overall company leadership, optimal resourcing and development of client account teams, procurement liaison, project delivery according to industry regulations and client company compliance requirements (including medical/commercial firewalling), company financial management and development and implementation of company growth strategy.

Bio: Anne-Sophie Henry-Eude is a French Doctor in Pharmacy with post-graduate degrees in Regulatory affairs and Pharmacovigilance & Pharmacoepidemiology. After working for several years in the pharmaceutical industry, she joined the EMA in 2001 where she worked in the field of Immunology and Anti-infective medicines. In 2013, she became Head of Documents Access and Publication Service at EMA.
