ISMPP Speaks Up

ISMPP remains committed to its mission of education and advocacy, including ensuring the fair representation of our profession in both the scientific literature and popular media.  
 
In an effort to clarify and/or expand upon points made in the public domain, our organization develops communications that support the ISMPP position on good professional ethics and transparency in medical publishing.  Please see below for a summary of some recent ISMPP communications.

September 2010: ISMPP Leaders Comment on Relevance of Ghostwriting report

The October issue of Medical Marketing & Media presents a response by Julia Ralston, ISMPP's President, and Rob Matheis, ISMPP's President Elect, to the question: "Is [Senator Grassley's] ghostwriting report still relevant?" They are joined by Jay Magrann, publisher of CMRO and an author of the MPIP Authors' Submission Tool Kit, and the senator himself. Click here.

August 2010: MPIP Initiative Published in CMRO

The Medical Publishing Insights and Practices Initiative (MPIP) toolkit, first presented at the 6th annual meeting of ISMPP, appeared in August issue of Current Medical Research & Opinion (CMRO). The guidelines, entitled Authors Submission Toolkit: A Practical Guide to Getting Your Research Published, is currently available to download on CMRO's website.
