February 7, 2011: ISMPP Launches New Website
January 2011 heralds the launch of the new and improved ISMPP website. The new HTML-based site is designed for enhanced “search engine optimization” (SEO), and has been expanded to allow richer and more accessible content to accommodate the needs of our growing organization. The new site will be maintained by ISMPP staff to allow more timely information updates. We are constantly looking to improve communications among our 1,000-strong membership, and anticipate that future improvements will consider, among other things, the adoption of social networking elements within the site more -->
January 19, 2011: ISMPP Membership Passes 1,000
Membership of the International Society for Medical Publication Professionals (ISMPP) surpassed the 1000 mark in December 2010. ISMPP was formed in 2005 with the aim of advancing the medical publication profession through education and advocacy; driving integrity, excellence, and transparency in medical publications; and leading the establishment and adoption of medical publication standards and best practices click here.
2010 Releases
December 3, 2010: ISMPP Releases Updated Code of Ethics
Although not accompanied by a formal press release, ISMPP today announced an update to its Code of Ethics. While the ethical principles underpinning the medical publication profession have not changed since the Code of Ethics was first released in 2007, the Ethics Committee determined that the document could be strengthened by making some key changes, including a more definitive and positive tone and general strengthening of some key principles. July 29, 2010: MPIP Initiative Announced
ISMPP and the Medical Publishing Insights and Practices (MPIP) initiative launches a new website that presents valuable resources to assist authors better select and submit manuscripts to peer-reviewed medical journals more -->

May 6, 2010: ISMPP Endorses Transparent Writing Collaboration
ISMPP endorsed the recently adopted Code for Interaction with Companies announced by the Council of Medical Specialty Societies (CMSS), representing over 30 member organizations. While recognizing the role pharmaceutical and device companies play in developing and marketing products to help patients live longer and healthier lives, CMSS has appropriately issued the voluntary code to help ensure medical society interactions with industry meet the highest ethical standards as they relate to transparency and independence more -->
