Q. Who is eligible to join ISMPP?
A.- ISMPP is a society that serves the interests of medical publishing professionals, and anyone who is interested in the medical publication field is encouraged to join. We have no restrictions. At present, there are over 700 members, with individuals from all areas of the medical publication field. Our membership spans the pharmaceutical, biotech, and device industries; medical publishers and editors; and medical publication and communications agencies. Q.- Who can attend the annual meeting ?
A. - Attendance of the annual meeting is a benefit to members of ISMPP. To learn more about the annual meeting, navigate to the Annual Meeting portal. To learn more about joining ISMPP, navigate to our membership application portal to Join Now.
Q. - What if I forgot my username and/or password? How can I retrieve my password?
A. Your user name is your registered e-mail address. If you forgot your password, proceed to the Login page and click on Forgot your password? Follow the instructions and your password will be e-mailed to you.
Q. - How do I submit an abstract for the annual meeting?
A. - All members are eligible and encouraged to submit abstracts for consideration for the annual meeting. Navigate to the Annual Meeting page and follow the instructions for submitting an abstract. Abstract submissions are free. Following your submission, you will receive information regarding the status of your abstract.
Q. - How do I make suggestions that I would like to bring to the attention of ISMPP?
A.- Ideas regarding the annual meeting, lunch-and-learn webinars, guest speakers, the newsletter, etc. are always welcome. Simply drop your suggestion in our Suggestion Box or contact ISMPP directly (+1 914 923 2227 or ismpp@ismpp.org). If your suggestion is directly related to one of the ongoing ISMPP Committees, you can address your correspondence to that specific committee for a quicker response time.
Q. I want to get more involved with ISMPP. How can I do this?
A. If you are interested in becoming a member, please see our membership page to Join Now. Q. - How do I join an ISMPP committee?
A.- There are no restrictions for joining an ISMPP Committee, and all members are welcome and encouraged to participate. Committees are usually formed or reformed each year during the annual committee member drive that opens each spring around the time of the annual meeting; however, we are always looking for volunteers to contribute to the committees. During the volunteer drive (all members receive an e-mail announcement), simply navigate to the ISMPP Committee page and submit a Committee Volunteer Form. At any other time, please send an e-mail to ismpp@ismpp.org.
Q.- How much does it cost to become a member of ISMPP?
A. - 2008 annual dues are $195.00 USD, and membership entitles you access to our monthly ISMPP U webinars, the quarterly members-only Newsletter, access to registration for the annual meeting and numerous other benefits. To find out more about what ISMPP has to offer, click here.
Q. - How do I access past ISMPP U events? Can I download the presentations? Are there any restrictions on who can view them or how they can be distributed?
A. Past ISMPP U events are available to all active members of ISMPP. Presentations are archived and available for viewing at your leisure. Presentations are the property of ISMPP and the presentation authors, and cannot be shared or used without the expressed written permission of ISMPP. Q. - How can I post a job or view a job on the ISMPP Job Board?
A. The ISMPP Job Board provides members, their companies, and professional employment recruiters a target-rich venue in which to post employment opportunities. Q. - Are there any plans to hold the Annual Meeting outside of the United States?
A. ISMPP is committed to increasing our membership and our presence internationally. The newly established European Committee is evaluating our presence and expansion internationally.
Q. - Does ISMPP offer any workshops or curriculum activities?
A. ISMPP is continuing to increase thr number of its educational options through the efforts of the Workshop, Education, and Program Committees. Additionally, the Credentialing Committee is presently developing a professional certification program. Q. - How do I update my member profile?
A. Log in to the member page, and click on the Update Your Details. Within the Update Your Details field, you will have option to personalize the information shown in the online member directory.
Q. - Why does ISMPP have a searchable member database versus a full directory?
A. The ISMPP Board of Trustees made the decision to protect all members from commercial solicitation, a goal which is achieved by our searchable database.
Q. - What is "Food for Thought"?
A. Food for Thought is a mechanism by which ISMPP members and nonmembers can reach out to the ISMPP office to submit proposals and share ideas for ISMPP U programs, Annual Meeting workshops, free-standing workshops, educational forums, Annual Meeting plenary sessions, and other educational program ideas.
