Bio: Since 2014, Susan Scott has been a director of Scott Pharma Solutions Ltd, providing consultancy in the arena of disclosure of clinical trials as scientific publications and on clinical trial registries. Bio: Gavin Sharrock is Business Development Director, Society Services Team, Wiley. Gavin started his career at Wiley (formerly Blackwell Publishing) as a Production Editor in Content Management, before moving on to become a Journal Publishing Manager and then a Publisher in Editorial, and then moving into business development in a Business Innovations group. He has considerable experience in digital product development in a publishing environment, and in working with corporate clients, particularly in the Pharma industry. Bio: Siobhan is an experienced global communications and medical affairs professional and is currently leading activities for a number of respiratory programmes. Siobhan's role is to develop communication and publication strategies to communicate science, medicines and health in a meaningful way to all audiences. Siobhan has a broad range and depth of experience across respiratory, inflammation, neuroscience, oncology and infection. Prior to her current role, Siobhan was responsible for a product in late stage development for gout and successfully led the scientific communications as well as an innovative project engaging with patients. Stuart Spencer

Bio: Stuart joined The Lancet in 1999 and throughout his time there has led the Fast Track team that aims to select, review and publish prestigious manuscripts within 4 weeks of receipt. Although dealing with all areas of research, he deals with most of the cardiology submissions. After graduating Stuart moved into research which started at the Brompton Hospital, London, looking at scoliosis in children before moving to the Veterinary School site at Bristol University. During this period he was invited to establish a research unit in The Netherlands. Later he set up a research team for a major pharmaceutical company in Switzerland for a year, and then spent 9 years as a senior researcher in New Zealand. He has also had two senior research fellowships at Leuven University, Belgium, and visiting professorships at Kings College, London and Hong Kong University, and a doctorate of medicine from Umea University, Sweden. Stuarts research expertise includes such diverse topics as, growth, neuroendocrinology, immunology and fetal development . He also had a Senior Fellowship in bioethics for 5 years. This broad research base in front-line research has given a clear understanding of principles in research and publications applicable across disciplines. Stuart is also a Trustee of the Scoliosis Association (UK), is on the British Scoliosis Research Fund grants committee and the Steering Committee of the Swedish National GP Research School.

Richard Stephens

Bio: Richard is a survivor of two cancers, a heart emergency and sundry other health challenges. He has acted as a carer for family members with both mental health and physical problems. Richard's interest in research comes from his own experiences as a patient, and as a participant in four clinical trials and eleven other research studies. He is the joint Editor-in-Chief of BMC's Journal of Research Involvement and Engagement, in some ways a natural extension from his secondary career as a freelance journalist (mostly sports) and author (mostly local history). His main professional life was spent in education and in local government, but Richard is now a full-time patient advocate in research, driven by a desire to make sure that research outcomes benefit patients, and that the process of participating is made as easy as possible so that patients can help bring benefits to other patients. He Chairs the (UK) National Cancer Research Institute's Consumer Forum and serves with several other international and national committees and bodies, such as EORTC, Eupati, MRC CTU, Genomics England and CRUK. His roles include advisory, funding, and priority-setting work. When time allows, Richard engages in a battle of wills with a gym treadmill, and enjoys sleeping.

Bio: Tin Tin is a medical doctor with post-graduate trainings on public health, epidemiology and vaccinology. She joined vaccine industry in 2006 and worked for medical affairs Sanofi-Pasteur MSD and Pfizer for over 10 years and is currently director at Global Clinical Epidemiology department at Pfizer Vaccines. She was involved in rotavirus and pneumococcal vaccines post-licensure activities. She is also a member of ADVANCE, public-private collaboration for Accelerated development of vaccine benefit-risk collaboration in Europe. Main areas of interest are vaccine preventable diseases, observational studies, infectious disease surveillance, vaccine policy, private-public partnership.

Richard has also published white papers on good publication practice, value demonstration and rare diseases in Pharmaceutical Marketing Europe, is an invited author of articles for ISMPP's MAP e-newsletter, and is on the Editorial Board of Drugs in Context. Richard founded the Oxford PharmaGenesis Value Demonstration Practice to apply good publication practice and communications expertise to HEOR, RWE and patient-reported outcomes (PRO) studies. He has run training workshops in these areas for multiple pharma companies and academic institutions, and has delivered invited presentations, educational webinars and moderated roundtable discussions on publications and communications best practice in HEOR, RWE and PROs at the ISMPP and TIPPA Annual Meetings. Richard was Chair of the 2017 TIPPA Annual Meeting. Before joining Oxford PharmaGenesis, Richard gained his MA and PhD in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, UK. His PhD research won the 1998 Glaxo Wellcome Young Investigator's Award, and he was awarded a Research Fellowship in Pharmacology at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge. He has completed the Advanced Health Economic Modeling Programme at the University of Oxford, is an alumnus of the International Marketing Programme at INSEAD, and is a member of Green Templeton College, University of Oxford, UK.
