Introduction

ISMPP is a volunteer organization. Since its inception, ISMPP has experienced such incredible enthusiasm from its membership—with many eager to assist in its development as the Society grows and evolves.  Volunteering to serve on an ISMPP committee is an excellent way to share your individual talents, experiences, and unique perspectives to contribute to this process.  We welcome and value your participation.

Once a year, we hold our annual committee volunteer drive. Watch your mailboxes for information on when and how to become an active committee member in an area of key interest to you. Please note that all volunteers will be asked to fill out a conflict of interest form prior to any participation.

If you have any questions, please contact Kimberly Goldin at 914 945 0507 or kgoldin@ismpp.org.

Working closely with an external consultant organization to facilitate the process, and with input from the Ethics, Standards and Best Practices, and Education Committees, the Committee will identify the key topics and issues for inclusion in the program.

The Committee will identify fundraising guidelines, eligibility requirements, body of knowledge, and practice requirements for publication professionals, and will develop an examination instrument and a governance board to oversee the examination process. Journal

Committee Chair: Coming Soon!
ISMPP is pleased to announce the formation of this committee. This will be an exciting endeavor because it will be the first journal dedicated to publication planning and medical publishing professionals, and will support the issues of ISMPP, as well as provide a communications vehicle for the membership. The first tasks will be to flesh out the scope of the publication, determine the process for initial development of the publication, and identify the editorial board and the publisher. ISMPP’s goal is to publish our first issue of the journal sometime in 2008. Please note that those who volunteered earlier this year for the Journal Committee will be contacted shortly to inquire about participation.

This new committee will assist with the development of practical, strategic, and tactical workshops for the membership, to be offered both at the Annual Meeting each spring, as well as at other points during the year.  This group has evolved from the Education Committee—as the Annual Meeting workshops have been so well received by members and the need to offer more of these types of programs has been identified.
